The ambitious purpose was to connect, by sea, Cesenatico to Cesena, only 15 km far.
During the centuries Cesenatico has grown, so, in the fifties of the last century, it was time for another major project: the skyscraper Cesenatico, which will change forever the city seaside look. Since then, tourism has been expanding, with the building of hotels, restaurants, beaches and beaches, shops, bars. The "modern town" rises around Viale Carducci, the main street running parallel to the coastline. Here and there survived some art nouveau villas, which gives a special touch of charm to the area next to the sea.

For those who wish to enjoy a cultural visit, it is possible to find the Maritime Museum, with different examples of boats moored in the Porto Canale. It is possible to hop on the most famous, the Trabaccolo, used for commercial transport.
Dedicated to the cycling champion Marco Pantani, finally, a museum, where you can find bicycles, trophies and personal items belonging to the sportsman who tragically died in 2004.
