Visiting Rimini in winter

The city of Romagna is considered the capital of the summer holidays for young people, discos and nightclubs in the Riviera attract students from all over Europe, eager to dance and have fun until dawn.
It would be wrong, however, to think that there is no interest in visiting Rimini in winter, because the city has great attractions throughout the year, to be enjoyed with peace of mind. Even in wintertime you will find many hotels in Rimini, ready to offer a convenient and comfortable stay.

The artistic heritage of the city is considerable, starting with the Malatesta Temple, whose history has been a succession of plot twists. The building was designed to be the tomb of Sigismondo Malatesta and his beloved wife, but during its construction the Lord of Rimini argued with the Pope and decided, therefore, to replace each religious element with neo-Platonic philosophy symbols. Although unfinished, the Temple is one of the finest examples of Renaissance architecture.
Rimini was also an important Roman town, as evidenced by the many remains, including the important Domus del Chirurgo, the greek doctor Eutyches, who left us, in addition to a house perfectly preserved, one of the most complete collections of ancient medical instruments.
To revive the maritime tradition of Rimini, just visit the village of San Giuliano, the old fishing district retains intact its medieval atmosphere; after walking along the alleys and squares, enter the Church of San Giuliano, where there is a Roman sarcophagus with miraculous properties.
The Village was one of Fellini's favorite neighborhoods, who paid homage to his hometown in numerous films. If you want to know some of the most intimate aspects of the great director, visit the Casa Museo Fellini, where you can admire drawings, notes, photographs and costumes.
If in summer Rimini is an open-air nightclub, in winter it has no shortage of entertainment, during the Christmas holiday the Adriatic Riviera parks open to give you special days and every year Rimini celebrates the New Year live on Rai Uno. Visiting Rimini in winter will be a unique surprise.
